Star War Release was a DISASTER

The concept of a revised and modernized edition of the Star Wars: Battlefront series seems like it has the potential to be very enjoyable. But what about in reality? Fans have not received the project from developer Aspyr with much enthusiasm.

Server problems occurred at the start, with only three servers online trying to accommodate almost 10,000 Steam players. More were progressively loaded, but the reason for launching in that condition remained uncertain.

Another problem is that the port is frequently of poor quality. Multiplayer is limited to 30 frames per second, Battlefront 2 cutscenes are absent, aim assist is subpar, flight control inversion is not available, and there are problems with audio and lighting.

Overall, the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is being released with minimal improvements that are expected, and it is also lacking certain features and content present in the original games.

The Battlefront collection received Mostly Negative reviews on Steam due to various issues, including server problems, with only 21% of reviews being positive. Interestingly, the game currently holds an 83% rating based on a few critic reviews, all averaging around 8-8.5. However, only five reviews are available for the PS5 version, which could explain the higher rating. Other creators have also given positive feedback. Here is GamingBolt’s final verdict:
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection demonstrates how a shooter with a simplified design but plenty of content can still be prominent in the present day.

Is it possible to address these issues for all players? The server problems seem to be getting better, but the other issues will still require more updates and support after the launch. Limiting multiplayer to 30 fps for older games like this is unrealistic for certain individuals. It definitely seems necessary to fill in the missing content and include essential features such as inverted flight controls in the game.

When and if these events occur, the situation may change, but at present, even though there are some good aspects, it is probably best to hold off on purchasing until these issues are resolved. What if they aren’t? Then it will likely be passed over. This continues to occur frequently with numerous re-releases, remakes, and remasters, making it very challenging to achieve success. Many companies appear unwilling to dedicate the necessary time and money upfront, preferring to patch things up post-release.
